TOP CLUB -Round 2 DEFEAT 24th May 2025 Home Liberty of Havering
For round 2 of the Top club match the weather presented a damp cloudy day, but fortunately no rain. Our green was in good condition and while there were some team changes due to player availability we were optimistic of playing well and gaining a positive result. However this was not to be and, despite playing some good bowls, were were beaten overall.
Rink 2: Sue Farmer and Val Dalton were against a strong pair and were always playing catch up. They were narrowly beaten 11-14 (6-12 ends)
Rink 3 Jean Lawrence was up against a county level player and likewise was always playing catch up. Final score 11-21 (8-11 ends)
Rink 4 Michelle Dixon, Maureen Foster, Lynn Martin led the game at end 9 but Liberty stepped up a gear and took the lead, beating us 14-21 (8-10 ends)
Rink 5 Gill Aggio, Marion Lucas, Catherine Barrett, Jenny Hylands lost the first end then went into the lead where they stayed throughout the match winning 20-11 (11-7 ends)
Overall a good effort by everyone if not the result we hoped for :-)
